The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee voted today to scrap the controversial REAL ID law which will require states to begin implementing tough new standardized technology requirements for drivers licenses in just a few months. A number of states have rebelled against the requirements and they risk their licenses not being accepted for federal purposes - including boarding airplanes. The measure that passed today is called the PASS ID bill and would extend deadlines and provide more government funds to help in the transition. My company got one previous LC approved whose requirements are BS in CS or Engg related. I have a civil engg degree, I would like to file I140 and get old PD. Will this substitution work? If anyone with "non CS" engg degree used a labor that asked degree in "CS or Engg rel" in item 14 on 750A please share your response.

Can someone tell me a little bit about visitor visa validity dates. For eg: if my parents got a 3 month visa, is it valid from the date it is issued or from the date of entry into the US?

It is clearly stated in the I-485 instructions that parents should sign for children below 14 years of age. Those 14 and above should sign for themselves.
Do we need to sign the I-485 docs on behalf of minors? My daughter is 9 years old and she has signed her papers all by herself. When I asked my attorney, one time she said I need to sign and finally she sent the docs with her signature only.

Hello all,
My wife's labor has been stuck for 2 years ( she got an RFE ). Her company lawyers arent too helpful and asked us to just wait. Wanted to know, what steps one can take to try to figure out what is happening.

I filed for my wife's 485 on July 2nd. Assuming USCIS accepts/issues a receipt, how does USCIS decide which case to pick up first, would it be based on RD OR would the case get priority over other cases since the primary applicant has been approved? Any memos, opinions around this?

The case status message for mine and my wife's EAD changed to Card production ordered. It did not change to Approval notice sent. I received the EAD cards within 1 week of the Card Production e-mail. However my lawyer received the Approval notices (wife and mine) first week of October.

I applied for SSN for my wife using the EAD,the person at the SSN office noticed that the date of birth on the EAD was not correct, but still took the application.Our lawyer reapplied for a new EAD last week but we recieved the SSN, please let me know if my wife can work using the SSN or wait till the reapplied EAD is approved.
